Enterprise Business Architect

Job Description

We have an opportunity for an Enterprise Business Architect to join our talented Professional Services team.  The successful candidate will work as a team member of our Enterprise Architect team to provide strategic and tactical support to the client.

Typical responsibilities include:

  • Analyze and document, complex IT ecosystem, related business processes and data flow to ensure system/data optimization and integration
  • Serve as a liaison between the business community and IT, collaborating with the customer to analyze, understand, and document current-state business processes and new requirements to inform the IT eco-system design.
  • Champion a user-centric requirements gathering, and analysis to inform design and architecture solutions
  • Proactively communicate and collaborate with customers and technical teams to develop high-quality requirements, presenting the information in a format that business users as well as the technical subject matters can understand.
  • Collaborate with diverse technical and customer/business organizations and current development projects to ensure that proposed changes to IT architecture and projects are assessed and evaluated against the Enterprise Architecture (As-Is and To-Be)
  • Present IT system architectural changes/proposed alternatives and their impacts to customer stakeholders and leadership
  • Analyze and suggest improvements to the strategic, core and support processes of the business unit, as needed, to support strategic and operational goals
  • Engage in an end-to-end approach of connecting the flow of data, data mapping and interdependencies, and system integration points as well as project/organizational dependencies
  • Create or update data dictionary and customer-focused data mapping based on user requested enhancements and changes to the overarching architecture
  • Evaluate potential/proposed solutions to identify business/customer process and IT system impacts
  • Ensure that test cases and scripts capture business processes and are defined in accordance with customer use cases and user stories

Required Skills

  • A BA/BS degree in the related field
  • A minimum of 5+ years’ experience working with Enterprise Architecture
  • 8+ years of experience with data, process, systems, and operational architectures
  • Experience in Project Management framework (initiation, planning, execution/monitor, close-out)
  • Must have excellent communication skills, including the ability to describe complex technical solutions through effective graphics and clear succinct writing and translate technical subject matter into messages that are comprehensible to executives, as well as users of IT systems
  • Must be extremely detail oriented with strong data mapping skills
  • Must have  a broad knowledge of data technologies and processes; Cloud, Unstructured, Big Data, Data Quality, Batch Cycles/ETL
  • Developed problem-solving and analytical abilities
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent presentation & communication skills in both oral and written form
  • CONTRACT REQUIRES SECRET CLEARANCE COMING IN

This position is located in the Washington DC metro region.
